Tour Details

Lemosho 9 days with Crater Camp Route is better altitude acclimatization programme. Lemosho 9 days with crater camp is perfect for climbers seeking a more private hiking experience. Although the route joins with the more popular Machame route on the third evening, the first three days on the mountain are relatively quiet with very few other trekking groups on the trail.

If you are real looking for unique adventure? Try sleeping in Crater Camp on Mt Kilimanjaro Crater camp stands on the Roof of Africa and is an incredible wilderness environment. If you have experience at altitude and love something challenging then sleeping overnight in Kilimanjaro’s Crater Camp is a fantastic option.

Crater Camp is a unique place. At 18,865 fee above sea level, it is the highest campsite on Mount Kilimanjaro. It is located just 475 feet below the summit. We offer the opportunity to stay at Crater Camp on the Lemosho and Northern Circuit routes. This option will add one day to the standard itineraries making them the 9 Lemosho Crater Route and 10 day Northern Crater Route.

At Stella Point (18,900ft), you will be able to see signs of the summit from a far. Our hike continues around the crater rim until we reach Uhuru Peak – the highest point on Mt. Our descend begins with a short distance walk to Crater camp, so that rest of the crew can join us to set up the camp. Here you will have the option to hike Reutsch Crater and the Ash Pit, or just explore the area surrounding the Furtwangler Glacier. It is not recommended sleeping in high altitude, because the danger of development serious AMS is high, if adequate altitude acclimatization has not been reached, which is why the guides will keep an eye on you.
